Have A Quickly Understand Of The Laboratory Desktop High-Speed Refrigerated Centrifuge
Release:Welso Tech.Date:2025-02-15

Centrifuges that with a speed higher than 10,000 rpm are called high-speed centrifuges. Small-sized high-speed centrifuges can be used directly on the laboratory table and can perform high-purity separation, concentration and refinement of suspended substances in sample solutions.

It is mainly used in biology, medicine, cytology, chemistry and other fields, and can be classified as normal temperature type and frozen type according to temperature to meet different application conditions.

How does the high speed refrigerated centrifuge work?

The fine particles in the static suspension will gradually sink under the gravity. The heavier the particles, the faster they sink. On the contrary, particles smaller than the density of the liquid will float. The speed at which particles move under the gravity is related to the size, shape and density of the particles, and the viscosity of the liquid. The particles are also accompanied by diffusion during sedimentation. Sedimentation is relative and conditional, only by external force can move, and the sedimentation speed is proportional to the mass of the object, the larger the particle the faster the settlement. For particles smaller than a few microns (such as viruses or proteins, etc.), they are colloidal or semi-colloidal in the liquid, so the sedimentation process cannot be observed by using gravity alone. Therefore, it is necessary to use the centrifugal force of a centrifuge to force these particles to overcome diffusion and accelerate sedimentation.

The difference between ordinary centrifuge and refrigerated centrifuge

·Ordinary centrifuges usually work at room temperature, suitable for separating large particles, cells and organelles. They just can be used at room temperature as have no refrigeration systems.

·The refrigerated centrifuge has a built-in refrigeration system that cools the centrifuge rotor, centrifuge tubes and samples to a low temperature state, usually between -20°C and -80°C. The low temperature state can maintain the integrity and stability of the sample, especially suitable for separation and preservation of temperature-sensitive bio-molecules, such as DNA, RNA, etc.

During the operation of the high-speed centrifuge, the temperature of the sample will rise, which may cause thermodynamic and chemical reactions of biological macromolecules in the sample, which will directly affect its separation and purification effect. High-speed freezing technology can avoid this situation and can quickly freeze and solidify the sample to ensure that the sample is not affected by thermodynamics and chemical reactions during centrifugation.

What are the precautions for use?

Welso brand high-speed refrigerated centrifuge has WTR1650, WTR1850, and WTR2150. you need to pay attention to the following points when using them.

·When starting up, check whether the rotor is firmly installed and no foreign matter falls into the machine cavity. The rotor must be fixed before the centrifuge can be used.

·Do not use the operation keyboard when the display is incomplete or not displayed.

·Tighten the cap while working

·During operation, no people or dangerous objects are allowed within 30cm of the centrifuge. Please do not open the centrifuge cover artificially. Do not open the cover to use the centrifuge at any time. Follow the principle of keeping your hands separate and operate the instrument with your right hand.

·After the centrifuge has stopped completely, open the cover, turn off the power, and wipe the outer surface with a clean soft cloth.

Maintenance

Every day, after each experiment, wipe the rotor surface and centrifugal holes with a sterilized 75% alcohol cotton ball.

Lastly, remember to write the” use and maintenance records form”.
